Less than 900 days to go . . .

Why bother objecting about all the egregious actions of Digong and his coterie of lapdogs? After all, this monstrosity appears to have an 87% approval rating of Filipinos--at least according to a 1,200 individual survey conducted by Pulse Asia between December 3 and 8, 2019. Indeed, a truly confidently ignorant society!

I'm not even sure why I am counting the days before Digong's term is over. The presidential prospects in 2022 are equally bleak with Digong's daughter, a Marcos and a Villar gunning for the post. So, the future of the Philippines is definitely NOT bright. In fact, it looks downright dreadful.

Then one reads about Digong ranting about terminating the VFA because the US visa of his pit bull, Bato, was canceled by the US government--in line with the recent enforcement of the Magnitsky Act vis-a-vis Philippine government officials who are found to be human rights violators.

Before I forget, I should remind the US government to cancel the US visa of Alvarez, Umali, Farinas, Garcia and all their family members (and freeze any of their assets in the US as well) for spearheading the kangaroo court against De Lima. Might as well do the same for all the Philippine senators who voted to lock-up De Lima after the farce in the Lower House.

Always the gentleman, ex-DFA Sec. Albert del Rosario points out "several valid reasons" on why the decision to terminate the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) between the Philippines and the United States should be revisited. How could a president of a country undermine a long-standing and strategic relationship with the United States in retaliation for a perfectly legitimate act of protest of the US government towards a mass murdering crony--especially when the country is being raped and pillaged by China today? In a confidently ignorant country I suppose. I would have just told Digong to fuck-off. He's got no right to be running this country, even if it is composed of mostly confidently ignorant citizens.

Then one reads about Duterte not keen on stopping tourist traffic from China in deference to his Master Xi Jinping; that is, when every other civilized country in the world is precisely doing so to mitigate a global pandemic. This jerk is not only giving away the farm, he is knowingly exposing the entire livestock to a deadly disease. This is beyond gross negligence, it's mass murder all over again. But then again, Google search already knows this. Type "mass murder + Philippines" in Google search (click on Image) and guess what turns up.

I think about the recent Rice Tariffication Law, authored by Senator Cynthia Villar, which is virtually a repeat of the Coco Levy during the heyday of Marcos and Danding. In the same way that the coconut farmers have suffered under the Coco Levy, so are the rice farmers suffering under the Rice Tarrification Law. And neither Marcos nor Danding nor Villar will be held accountable for these massive institutional crimes in the guise of helping the poor Filipino farmer.

Then I naturally recall of just how bad was corruption during the Marcos years and how on earth that despicable family has managed to return with a vengeance to once again terrorize the Philippines. My thoughts have come full circle and the matter is settled. There is no hope for the confidently ignorant. Why bother?
